The Role of Nature in Islamic Art
Overview
Professor Laetitia La Follette of the University's
Art History Department has created a series of multimedia lectures that compare art created in the Western tradition with art from other cultures around the world. These lectures, recorded by an assortment of distinguished faculty from the Five Colleges, are targeted at first year students in a year-long survey course of Art History.
CESD and ACSIOM (the Applied Computing Systems Institute of Massachusetts, Inc.) piloted a version of this project that ran over the Web using streaming audio technology developed by the
MANIC group in the Computer Science Department.
