Rashi
Rashi is an Intelligent Tutoring System based on inquiry learning theory. It is an inquiry learning environment, as well as an intelligent tutoring system for that environment. Since Rashi is platform independent, it is applicable to a variety of study areas, including biology, forestry, geology, and art history. Experts in each field enter the knowledge base used for their particular area of study, leaving teachers free to focus on the method.
Inquiry-based learning is rooted in the scientific method. Students investigate phenomenon in a structured, methodical way. The benefits of inquiry-based learning include the development of critical thinking, creative thinking, and problem solving. With the Rashi Intelligent Tutoring System, students use guided inquiry to reach conclusions based on evidence, and present those conclutions in a concise format.
